Telangana Govt Inviting Indian Startups For The Mobility AI Grand Challenge; Details Here

On behalf of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), the Telangana AI Mission (T-AIM) has launched the “Mobility AI Grand Challenge”. Through this challenge, T-AIM is seeking startups to provide novel AI solutions to detect and classify potholes based on their severity in the city. 

The objective is to use Artificial Intelligence (AI), and video feed (40 fps or higher) from specific routes in Hyderabad will need to be analyzed for potholes. The potholes in the video feed need to be identified and classified using AI. Classification of pothole severity may be undertaken based on the surface area and depth of the pothole.

The opportunity provides several benefits for the startups, including,

  • Build and deploy your AI solutions   
  • Implement a pilot within the State of Telangana   
  • Get up to ₹20 lakhs of financial support towards the implementation of the pilot project   
  • Network with AI leaders, government officials, and more   

Moreover, the government is planning to provide a detailed description of the challenge via a webinar. One can join the Mobility AI Grand Challenge Webinar to understand the objective, the process outline and the expected outcomes of the Grand Challenge.

Lokesh Kumar, Commissioner, GHMC. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet senior representatives from Capgemini, Telangana AI Mission, Intel Applied AI Center and TiHAN.

  • Time: 2:00 PM-3:00 PM 

The team has laid down the criteria for startups to participate. First, the Indian startups registered anywhere in India can participate. Second, it should be in existence for no older than eight years (incorporated not prior to 1st January 2014).
