Tamil Nadu Police Start Course For Wellbeing Grasp Trainers

CHENNAI: Director normal of police C Sylendra Babu has inaugurated psychological counselling for police personnel in Tamil Nadu to destress them and nurture their good well being. Chief minister M Ok Stalin, who presided over the passing out parade of 86 deputy superintendents of police on July 29 and inaugurated the coaching of newly recruited sub-inspectors of police on September 1, had emphasised the significance of making grasp trainers within the police division who would, in flip, practice cops on bodily and psychological well-being.
On Monday, as a primary step, a diploma course to the 246 wellbeing grasp trainers of the police division was inaugurated and this is able to proceed for the following three months, nearly, stated the discharge from state police.
Dr Pratima Murthy, director of Nationwide Institute of Psychological Well being and Neuro Sciences, presided over the inaugural operate and delivered a speech by means of video conferencing. DGP Sylendra Babu launched the course brochure and addressed the grasp trainers.
“Among the many 246 contributors of the course, 112 have been from the police division and 134 are non-public counsellors. After acquiring the diploma certificates, the trainers will give wellbeing coaching to 1.3 lakh police personnel and three lakh households of cops. This course will likely be carried out in all commissionerates and district headquarters in the end,” stated the press assertion.
The diploma course will likely be carried out beneath the supervision of Shailesh Kumar Yadav, extra director normal of police, welfare.
It might be remembered that two years in the past, the then chief minister Edappadi Ok Palaniswami had issued a authorities order for the counselling programme in affiliation with NIMHANS at an expenditure of Rs 10 crore. Additional, Rs 60.47 lakh was granted.
