In order to create a cutting-edge digital experience for the G20 meetings, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has invited universities and colleges to encourage their teachers and students to brainstorm ideas. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is asking entrepreneurs, start-ups, businesses, and college students who are interested in conceptualising the digital experience using the most recent emerging technologies for the G20 meeting that will be held in various cities to submit Expressions of Interest.
In a letter to the universities, UGC Secretary P K Thakur requested that all universities and their affiliated colleges and institutions “encourage their faculty members and students to actively participate and submit their Expression of Interest with all the necessary documents duly signed by an authorised signatory (or the zip files over email) on or before November 18.”
New concepts must be submitted by participants for implementation at the overall event level. One of these is the creation of “Digital Selfie Points,” which are interactive and immersive for users thanks to technologies based on machine learning and artificial intelligence. The participants will also need to develop the best use cases for providing a cutting-edge digital experience using IoT-enabled gadgets, robots, and 3D printing, as well as the use of QR codes across the venue, UPI-enabled wallets, and eKYC using DigiLocker and Aadhaar.
They must demonstrate potential AR/VR use cases, like providing attendees with a digitally immersive experience of famous landmarks and delectable foods from the cities where the event is being held, online gaming possibilities, a drone-based virtual reality experience, and engaging mobile apps.
