Top Cost-Effective Use Of Artificial Intelligence In Healthcare In 2022

August 20, 2022
Top-Cost-effective-Use-of-Artificial-Intelligence-in-Healthcare-in-2022

Top Cost-effective Use of Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare in 2022; Indian AI organizations that are making headway in inexpensive healthcare.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is commonly cited as a tool for providing healthcare that is more precise, individualized, and secure. Decision support is an important use of AI. In domains like dermatology, dentistry, and ophthalmology, AI algorithms have been published with diagnostic accuracies at or above the average physician. Differences between the environment in which an AI solution is used and the environment in which it is developed may produce new problems about cost-effectiveness that are pertinent to conversations about the continuously rising expense of healthcare. The cost-effectiveness of AI is heavily impacted by how accurately it can diagnose problems for the given use, the patient population, and characteristics unique to the healthcare environment.

The reality of India’s healthcare system is slightly different. In addition to the standard issues of poor access to healthcare, an imbalanced patient-to-doctor ratio, and high treatment costs, the nation also faces specific caste-based issues, a lack of native data for AI devices, and a lack of centralized EHS systems, and low health expenditures. Indian AI organizations are making headway in delivering universal access to inexpensive healthcare.

SigTuple: Tathagato Rai Dastidar co-founded SigTuple with the intention of easing the work of a doctor by automating the screening and analysis of medical data. His major focus areas are pathology and ophthalmology. His company offers five marvels. Shonit, an automated peripheral blood smear analyzer, Shrava, an automated urine slide analyzer, Aadi, an automated semen sample analyzer, Digitizer, a digital scanner that scans slides, retains the image and supports telemedicine, and Drishti (a cloud-based AI system which analyses images from a Fundus camera to screen diabetic retinopathy). This Bengaluru-based organization recently assisted a hospital in remote areas of Tamil Nadu with the analysis of blood samples for patients with sickle cell anemia. According to SigTuple, using Shonit enabled them to decrease the turnaround time for lab testing at this facility from two days to less than 15 minutes.

Niramai: Noninvasive Risk Assessment for Machine Intelligence is referred to as Niramai. Simply put, the business has created low-cost, radiation-free, non-touch medical equipment that uses software to identify breast cancer in female patients. It is well-liked because it can identify cancer more quickly than self-examination and more affordably than conventional diagnostics. The company has stated that it has obtained the necessary certifications to increase its base in the Europe and US markets. This follows the company’s success in the Indian market, where their gadget is employed by major hospitals like HCG and Apollo.

Perfint: For more than a decade, Perfint has been active in the healthcare industry. Maxio, Robio Ex, and Navios are three devices offered by the 2005-founded firm. These robotic systems assist doctors in performing cancer biopsies, tumor removals, and CT-guided ablation operations. By 2015, 1,500 procedures in India and other countries had used the company’s systems.

Wysa:  A few sites have been created recently that enable users to log in anonymously and express their emotions, including loneliness, depression, anxiety, and more. The creators of Wysa went one step further by pairing users with an intelligent robotic system that uses evidence-based cognitive behavioral techniques, breathing, yoga, and other actions to listen to users and assist them in developing mental resilience, while these platforms already have real people reading and responding to users as a friend. Wysa places a strong emphasis on privacy, and the platform is designed initially for listening before providing treatment services if the user is ready. The platform provides free access to its 3 million users to date.

Lybrate: When the pandemic was at its worst in 2020, Lybrate, an online platform for doctor consultations, witnessed a 60% spike in reservations. The program, which was established in 2014, allows users to schedule medical visits for themselves and their families. In fact, thanks to its chat platform, customers can connect with the best doctor for a diagnosis and advice by sharing medical data and medications online. The platform currently has 3 million users from 65 different nations, and most of them are free.
