Top AI Careers To Pursue In 2024 Include Consulting Ethics, Research Scientists, And More

January 11, 2024
Artificial-Intelligence

Artificial intelligence is developing quickly in a number of domains. We saw in 2023 how AI impacted every facet of business, from sales to automation. Nothing less is what we expect in 2024. It is anticipated that an increasing number of businesses would make significant investments in AI for purposes including expansion, business growth, or even just to boost current productivity.

Throughout all of these quick developments, one thing that has remained constant is the fear that millions of professionals around the world have about AI replacing more human labor. We have demonstrated in our series of essays that while AI may indeed eliminate some employment, it may also end up creating a great deal more jobs.

It is obvious that AI will not eliminate occupations, but those who have updated their abilities to meet the new demands are more likely to succeed. Even though we’ve already provided a list of AI courses, today we’re going to highlight several AI occupations that will be very important by 2023.

AI Research Scientist

With more businesses making significant investments in AI technologies, there will probably be a great demand for AI research scientists in the near future. A specialist in natural language processing, deep learning, computer vision, speech recognition, explainable AI (XAI), reinforcement learning (a branch of machine learning), and other areas of artificial intelligence is known as an AI research scientist. In terms of qualifications, a Ph.D. or master’s degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or a similar discipline would be required for an AI research scientist. They must to have taken part in AI conferences or published research articles in reputable publications.

AI Engineer
These experts develop apps and systems using AI and machine learning techniques in an effort to assist businesses increase productivity and efficiency by scaling their current operations. The creation of tools, procedures, and systems that enable AI to be applied to a range of real-world issues is the primary goal of AI engineers. Artificial intelligence (AI) engineers can effectively aid in cost reduction as these procedures need significant investments, and algorithms are educated by massive datasets that enable them to function efficiently. Organizations can benefit from increased productivity, revenues, and even assistance with business strategy from an AI engineer.

Machine Learning Engineer
The best way to characterize this work is as a hybrid of data science and software engineering. To build data science models that can process terabytes of data in real time, a machine learning engineer uses big data technologies. Anyone with a background in applied research, software engineering, or data science would be a great fit for this position. Strong mathematical abilities, expertise with deep learning, cloud applications, and neural networks, as well as proficiency with Java, Python, and Scala are sought after by companies recruiting machine learning experts. Additionally, candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a similar discipline.

AI Ethics Consultant
A practitioner who assists in developing guidelines or defining the development and deployment routes of AI within an ethical framework is known as an AI ethicist or consultant. They are in charge of making sure AI systems adhere to moral standards and ideals, such as accountability, justice, transparency, and privacy. Academically speaking, an AI ethics consultant should be well-versed in AI and its societal ramifications and possess a background in philosophy, sociology, law, psychology, etc.

AI Data Engineer
Data science includes data engineering as a component. Data engineers are anticipated to use AI to create systems that gather unprocessed data and transform it into information that data scientists, business analysts, and other professionals that work with data interpretation can use. A data engineer opens up access to massive datasets so hundreds of organizations can assess and maximize their efficiency with them. It should be mentioned that data engineering is a wide field with applications in practically every sector of the economy.

AI Product Manager
In many ways, this position is comparable to that of a product manager working in sales and marketing. Product managers for artificial intelligence are needed to specify the product and the overarching plan for businesses developing AI goods and services. They must also perform customer analysis and market research. These managers are also in charge of overseeing the entire life cycles of AI products, including their conception, development, introduction, and assessment. It is expected of AI product managers to have knowledge of AI technology and the AI market, as well as experience in commercial marketing.

AI Solutions Architect
A specialist who manages the creation, advancement, and use of diverse artificial intelligence instruments is known as an AI solution architect. They guarantee that the AI solutions satisfy the demands and specifications of customers or businesses. A degree in computer science, software engineering, or a similar discipline is necessary for AI solution architects. Additionally, they must be knowledgeable with AI technologies and how they integrate into different platforms and systems.

Computer Vision Engineer
For those who are unaware, computer vision is an area of artificial intelligence that allows machines to extract data from photos, movies, and other input sources. Creating and implementing different computer vision algorithms and techniques is the responsibility of a computer vision engineer. These techniques enable computers to understand visual data, including photos, movies, and even facial identification. It is required of those in this position to have experience in computer vision, computer engineering, or similar subjects. Additionally, they ought to be familiar with computer vision frameworks and libraries.

The aforementioned list is based on a number of well followed online trends. Since AI is growing faster than ever, we expect to introduce additional roles in the near future. Reading up on and learning more about the latest technology is the greatest method to interact with them. Those who want to advance in their careers should keep an eye out for new offline and online courses that will provide them a competitive advantage over their peers.
