The top ten programming languages that contributors to Github repos will use in 2023

JavaScript: JavaScript was the most widely used programming language. Over 4 million new developers joined the scene in the previous year, making it the language with the largest absolute growth rate. In only the past six months, almost 2.5 million developers have registered. even in software disciplines where JavaScript is not the programming language of choice.

Python: Python is a crucial and rapidly expanding programming language for data science and machine learning. Python programmers are more prevalent than ever because to the language’s straightforward syntax and library support.

Java: The third most popular language used by GitHub authors is Java. Java, a programming language that is also focused on objects and was originally published on May 23, 1995, was invented by James Gosling. Although Java and C and C++ share some low-level capabilities, it is mostly a high-level language used for client-server web applications.

TypeScript: Microsoft introduced the popular open-source programming language known as TypeScript. It has all of JavaScript’s features as well as some fresh ones, like the Enum type and floating points.

C++: In the list of the top languages used by GitHub repo users, the well-liked computer language C++ has jumped to sixth place. Operating systems, video games, and other programs can all be created using the well-liked general-purpose programming language C++. The language was ranked sixth last year, but has since moved up the list.

Ruby: Ruby is a flexible, open-source programming language with an emphasis on efficiency and usability. It is a general-purpose, high-level, interpreted computer language. Its syntax is appealing and simple to read and write.

PHP: The Hypertext Pre-processor Language, also known as PHP, is a well-liked general-purpose programming language that is open-source. Last year, the language was ranked fourth. In addition, it is this year’s ninth most frequently used language among GitHub repo contributors. Dynamic websites, static web pages, and web apps can all be created using the computer language PHP.

C#: Based on the C language family, C# is a type-safe, object-oriented computer language. According to the Stack Overflow Developers report 2020, the language is widely widespread and well-liked. The most recent major release of Microsoft’s.NET development platform,.NET 5.0, features a new version of the C# programming language.

C: One of the most widely used programming languages is C. C was ranked eighth among GitHub repo contributors in 2017 but fell to tenth place in 2021. It is utilized for several purposes, including as the creation and maintenance of databases, the development of compilers, and the creation of IoT applications.

Shell: User programs known as shells enable users to interact with operating system features. Shell accepts user-supplied commands that are human understandable and transforms them into instructions that the kernel can understand. It is a command language interpreter that reads and executes instructions from input sources like files or keyboards.
