To Address The Shortage Of Cloud Skills, Google Cloud Is Introducing New Certifications And Training Programs

April 18, 2024

Many of the conventional obstacles to cloud efforts are disappearing as cloud computing gains traction. However, there is one issue that still affects a lot of businesses. The requirement for people with cloud technology skills has increased in tandem with the rise in cloud adoption. However, finding this personnel is difficult. Finding people with the necessary cloud technology skills is at least “somewhat difficult,” according to 94% of 124 IT managers surveyed recently.

Google Cloud recognizes that your path to the cloud may be made or broken by your skill set. “Google Cloud is the skill that’s seeing the fastest-growing demand,” according to an Indeed poll, with a 66.74% increase over the previous year. Therefore, they are stepping up our efforts to provide the tools that help the workforce become more fluent in the cloud.

Three approaches to solving the shortage of cloud skills in 2019:

Extending the scope of their role-based certifications to assist companies in finding competent employees.
By providing a vast array of learning opportunities, millions of workers are being prepared to prosper in a future where cloud computing is the norm.
To reach a wider audience, they have localized their cloud learning and certification programs into Japanese, French, German, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Extending their certification program for roles

Businesses are finding that as cloud use rises, traditional IT job positions need to be redefined to reflect a more comprehensive mission that unites technology and business strategy. They’ve created a portfolio of certifications that cover the most important roles for success in the cloud in order to assist.

Google Cloud Certified portfolio will now include four additional certifications:

Expert Cloud Developer (GA)
Expert Network Engineer for Cloud Computing (Beta)
Expert Engineer for Cloud Security (Beta)
G Suite accreditation (GA)
Their credential portfolio now includes Associate Cloud Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect, and Professional Data Engineer certificates. These four additional certifications complete it. All of their certifications address the fundamental cloud job responsibilities that they think any company needs to have on staff. They’ve been closely observing what enables businesses to effectively migrate to the cloud and realize a return on their investment for the past year. They discovered that it requires teamwork, particularly from those who are developing apps, connecting data, and creating and safeguarding infrastructure—roles that are represented in their certifications.

Developing capabilities throughout the entire organization is essential for a successful cloud shift. As of right now, they have also added a G Suite certification to verify the digital abilities required in the cloud-first professional settings of today. Numerous clients have informed us that embracing G Suite was essential to fostering an innovative and collaborative cloud culture. They intend to close the digital skills gap and give our clients a standard by which to gauge their team’s preparedness for significant cloud transformation by offering this new certification.

Getting millions of workers ready for a world where the cloud is everything

Indeed reports that throughout the previous three years, the number of job advertisements mentioning “Google Cloud” as a required talent has climbed by 1082%. They are dedicated to training millions of people in 2019 and beyond in order to help meet the need.

They’ve been adding to our extensive training library to accommodate the growing demand for Google Cloud expertise. They are offering their employees the tools they need to become proficient in the cloud and stay current with Google Cloud innovations, including over 300 hands-on labs and over 40 accessible courses. A selection of their most recent training catalog additions are as follows:

Google Cloud Platform Specialization: Security (new)
Google Cloud Platform Specialization: Networking
Getting Ready for the Professional Data Engineer Certification Exam and the Professional Cloud Architect Certification Exam
Specialization in Advanced Machine Learning with TensorFlow on Google Cloud Platform
Using Google Cloud Platform for Industrial IoT
Using Dialogflow to Create Conversational Experiences
ensuring that education is available to everyone

Since the beginning of the Google Cloud Learning program, they have dedicated themselves to providing training that is both accessible and reasonably priced for everyone. They quickly saw that flexible and non-traditional learning settings were quickly taking over as the new standard, and as a result, they were among the first public cloud providers to make all of our courses available on-demand. They have localized their courses and certifications into five languages: French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish, as part of their ongoing commitment to accessibility.
