Telehealth Outlook In A Post COVID Healthcare Landscape

December 23, 2021
EH_GB_Dr_Maluk

Telehealth usage soared early in the COVID-19 pandemic as consumers and providers sought safe ways to access and deliver healthcare. Telehealth provided a bridge to care during the pandemic, and it now provides an opportunity to reinvent virtual and hybrid virtual care models with the objective of improving healthcare access, results, and affordability.

Telehealth has become a basic necessity for the general public, patients with COVID-19 and health care providers, allowing patients to seek assistance on their health problems in real time through communication with health care providers. The telehealth market, which includes telemedicine, online pharmacy, tele-ICU, mobile health, home diagnostic services, and other services, is the fastest-growing segment within healthcare, with a CAGR of 39.6%. According to a recent study on the state of the ehealth sector, it is expected to reach $10.6 billion by 2025. It is the means of bridging the gap in healthcare access between urban and rural India. With the government of India’s telemedicine guidelines, telehealth might be a boon for rural healthcare.

The way health care is delivered and received around the globe has been transformed by technology. Artificial Intelligence (Al) is at the forefront of accessible new-age technology and is also the most talked about. In the present crisis, Al has played a critical role. With the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, the healthcare industry throughout the world has been able to gain more relevant insights and give more individualised care to patients.

Telehealth witnessed accelerated acceptance during the COVID-19 pandemic, finding a niche among the rising technologically enabled India, by enabling access to quality healthcare with a near-zero risk of contamination. In India, telehealth has had a significant impact on communities. It has allowed the impoverished to access basic healthcare without having to travel, which is especially important during the COVID-19 pandemic. India has made significant progress in terms of upgrading its technology resources. Telemedicine can offer expert care to even the most remote parts of India if these resources are upgraded.

The healthcare market is growing, and it’s helping to transform the industry by shifting to a patient-centric digital care approach. A patient-centric digital care management platform works as a kind of continuous feedback loop, serving as a virtual partner in the patient’s journey to better health. Healthcare providers have adjusted to a digital driven clinical patient relationship to deliver a hassle free experience to their patients,

Due to the Covid outbreak, India had witnessed an imminent shift toward prioritising remote care, adopting digital health technologies and implementing sustainable healthcare practices. There has been a significant uptick in the number of telemedicine platforms and services being launched in India lately and it might only grow more. The healthcare industry has undergone a positive transformation because of technological advancements and has now become an integral element of Indian healthcare and will continue to be so for the foreseeable future.
