Sun Life Asia Service Centre India launches “Putting Your Wellness First” employee well-being campaign

Amongst the first of its initiatives in line for 2021, Sun Life Asia Service Centre India (ASCI), the Global In-house Centre (GIC) of Sun Life Financial has launched “Putting Your Wellness First” campaign for its employees to further strengthen its Employee well-being initiatives. Sun Life ASC employs more than 3000 personnel across its India & Philippines Centers who continue to work from home in 2021.

All employees have been granted an extra paid day off on 15th February, Monday, across India & Philippines. No Meeting Fridays(afternoons) have been announced to give employees the opportunity to complete their work without interruptions; encouraging employees to reduce the frequency, duration and participation in meetings. Staff has been guided to be appreciative of their time and avoid booking meetings out of working hours or during lunchtime. People have been advised to reach out to their managers to adopt flexible work arrangements and manage workload. ASC has continued to measure employee sentiments and their Wellbeing on regular basis through employee chat bot, pulse survey and different employee connects.

ASC also has an Employee Assistance Program which provides free & confidential mental health support as well as physical well-being services for employees to help deal with their concerns and alleviate stress.

Since the pandemic erupted, there has been a significant overlapping of work and personal lives. Heralded as amongst the country’s best workplaces for its organisational culture and gender diversity practices, ASC India has taken several measures in employee engagement, wellness and diversity hiring. With 35% women workforce and 30% women in leadership layer, ASC India has one of the best gender diversity ratios in the (IT/ITeS) industry. Last year, ASC India hired 41% women despite the Lockdown.

Tarun Sareen, MD, Asia Service Centres, Sun Life says, “The pandemic has revealed that continuous efforts in employee engagement and wellness are even more significant now to have happy, engaged, driven and healthy employees while working remotely.”

Rajeev Bhardwaj, CHRO, Asia Service Centres, Sun Life says, “ASC’s culture of continuous communication, building camaraderie and celebrating achievements has got us across the pandemic together. These initiatives have helped employees as well as their families develop a sense of belonging to the Sun Life family.”
