Startup Docty To Set Up 100 Digital Health Kiosks

March 5, 2022
Docty

Telehealth startup Docty plans to set up 100 digital healthcare kiosks in India. Called ‘Gali Gali Me Digital Clinic’, this programme is meant to help patients get timely consultation, prescription and electronic medical records (EMR), and pharmacy and lab services at discounted rates across more than 28 specialities, the company says. Separately, Docty has also joined hands with healthcare major Apollo and diagnostic services entity DiagnoSmart to offer their services through Docty’s platform.

“In the next six months, we will run a pilot with over 100 offline businesses and local shops like pharmacies, xerox centres, internet cafes, etc., to bring the benefits of online consultation closer to them through their physical care franchises. For shopkeepers, we wish to supplement their footfalls with a digital clinic and expand beyond their regular revenue streams,” says Ramya Subramanian, COO and co-founder of Docty.

The company claims that Docty’s partnership with Apollo group’s pharmacy chain — Apollo Pharmacy — will see its 4,000 pharmacy outlets getting ready for home delivery and store pick-up, as well as fulfillment of the prescriptions generated by Docty doctors. Diagnosmart will offer lab tests with sample collection support in 20 cities, across 1,400 diagnostic labs.

“At Docty Inc., we always believe in creating successful alliances. Although we have finite objectives with our partners like Apollo Pharmacy and Diagnosmart of fulfillment, however going forward, we have plans to get into more strategic partnerships to gain new capabilities, new geographies, more consultations, etc.,” Subramanian says.

Docty claims to offer patient-centric services through a complete set of geo-located digital healthcare solutions, designed to help doctors and hospitals. In 2020, Docty first launched its platform in Columbia and simultaneously started offerings its services in India.

“With the integration of top-notch technology, Docty plans to create the largest possible medical ecosystem, keeping in mind some of the major challenges patients face when it comes to healthcare. It aims to provide 360-degree digital healthcare solutions through its innovative and futuristic approach. Through this, Docty is also better enabling doctors, hospitals, clinics, insurance providers, government bodies, pharmacies, corporations and patients, to keep up with the new-age digital transformation tools,” a company spokesperson said.

The 100 kiosks will come up in Telangana, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar in a phased manner.
