PM Modi Will Speak At A Post-Budget Technology Webinar

Tuesday’s post-budget webinar, with the title “Unleashing the Potential: Ease of Living With Technology,” will feature remarks from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The webinar will cover Budget announcements including the DigiLocker entity, national data governance, address update facility, fintech services, Centre of Excellence on AI (Artificial Intelligence) and Mission Karmayogi, E-Courts, 5G, and ease of doing business, according to an official statement.

The topics of KYC, Common Business Identifier, and Unified Filing Procedure, among others, would also be discussed.

The post-budget webinar’s topic, “Unleashing the Potential: Ease of living utilizing technology,” will be addressed by the prime minister via video conference on Tuesday at 10 AM, according to the press release.

The Directorate of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade will co-lead the webinar alongside the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (DPIIT). It will include discussions of the theme-related budget releases and the specifics relative to the IT Ministry, DPIIT, Departments of Justice, Telecom, Spending, and Commerce.

The important budget announcements will be discussed, and stakeholders and experts from state governments, business, academia, start-ups, and civil organizations will develop implementation milestones and a plan.

According to a press release, “a number of eminent personalities, including Justice A. Muhamed Mustaque, Pawan Goenka of Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd., and Akash Ambani of Reliance Jio Infocomm, will grace the webinar and share their insights in the plenary opening session after the context setting by Alkesh Kumar Sharma, Secretary MeitY.

The webinar will include four concurrent breakout sessions on topics including “Ease of Living Using Technology for Access” (led by MeitY), “Ease of Accessing Justice” (led by DoJ), “Ease of Doing Business” (led by DPIIT), and “Ease of Living Using 5G Use-Cases and Labs” (led by DoT).
