Ola Krutrim Releases A Mobile App, And Reveals Its AI Ambition For India

May 6, 2024
krutrim

On Saturday, Ola’s AI platform Krutrim unveiled its goals to help Indian developers foster innovation in the nation’s AI industry. Krutrim also released mobile apps for its AI helper around this time. With an emphasis on developing all-encompassing AI capabilities, the company has opened up access to its cloud platform, Krutrim Cloud, for researchers, developers, and companies. By taking this action, they hope to enable them to produce innovative technology goods at a fraction of the price of those produced by present standards.

Access to cutting-edge AI computing infrastructure, including many open-source models and Krutrim’s core models, is provided by Krutrim Cloud. Furthermore, the platform offers location services SDKs and APIs that are necessary to enable the creation of creative localized mapping solutions.

With the help of the company’s own language model that was trained on a vast amount of data, the Krutrim assistant app seeks to make AI accessible to anyone. With aspirations to rapidly expand to all 22 official languages, it can currently interpret and generate responses in more than ten Indian languages. The application will eventually allow voice commands and smoothly combine text, speech, and visual data. Additionally, the Krutrim assistant is compatible with other apps, so users can carry out tasks like making reminders or reservations for taxis without having to move between them. Over time, it picks up on user interactions and provides individualized experiences with customised reminders and suggestions.

“We are committed to building comprehensive AI capabilities in India in line with our Prime Minister’s vision of a developed India,” said Bhavish Aggarwal, the founder of Ola Krutrim. In our opinion, India requires its own technological platforms in order to enable the production of high-quality goods at more affordable prices. Our companies and developers won’t have to depend on pricey, complicated Western cloud platforms that might not be the best fit for Indian requirements thanks to Krutrim. Our helper app Krutrim will make integrating AI into daily life easier by resolving the complexity that is frequently connected to digital tools and services.”

Developers can now create scalable solutions with access to Krutrim Cloud by utilizing a range of models, tools, and services, such as:

  • Model-as-a-Service (MaaS): Giving developers access to open-source models and Krutrim’s language models (LLMs) hosted on the cloud, so they may design products tailored to the Indian market.
  • GPU-as-a-Service: providing resources on GPUs for model serving, training, and optimization.
  • Foundational Services: These comprise SDKs and location-based APIs for developing mapping applications.

The goal of Krutrim is to create a strong mapping platform that would assist both regional requirements and larger plans for India’s economic and technical advancement. Additionally, the business is developing MapGPT, which will allow for natural dialogues facilitated by AI assistants that are aware of location. Personalization and community-based features will also be improved.
