My TAG App | This Edtech Startup Helps You Plan Your Career The Right Way

September 20, 2022
edtech

My TAG App is the first school and college site for students from kindergarten to higher education seeking admission to prestigious institutions in India and overseas. And so, to connect kids from schools/colleges and colleges with parents on a single platform, the My TAG App was created. My TAG App not only guides college-going students in choosing their colleges but also provides guidance to the parents of kindergarten children, who often get struck by the dilemma of choosing the right school for their children.

Founder’s Journey:

Kundan Singh founder of My TAG APP having 8+ years of experience in counseling 15000+ students and parents of India and abroad. He began My TAG journey in 2014 and, after gaining some valuable experience in the field of education, he developed the concept for the My TAG App in 2017, and began working on it in 2018, finally launching it into the market in 2021.

He has also made a category called, “Don’t be a Ghanshyam,” because he felt many students choose their career paths by listening to their friends and family members rather than doing proper research on that field and analysing its future prospects. He understood the needs of students and parents for the right career guidance. He also said that this field requires a deep sense of knowledge and responsibility.

The Sudden Boom In The Ed-Tech Industry:

The founder understands very well the recent boom in the ed-tech industry but shares that his venture is in the service sector and solves the problems of admissions by making the college procedure transparent by making it easily accessible. The market dynamics of the ed-tech industry are huge and talking about the college students, around 4 crore students go for higher education on a yearly basis including over 50k colleges.

There are almost 30 lakh schools with 250 million ongoing students. Also, considering students within the age groups of 5 to 24 years, there are around 580 million, a huge number that makes up a large chunk of the ed-tech sector.

And so, talking about career counsellors, India is still in need of 140 million professional counsellors, making up the ratio of 1:250, with 1 counsellor for 250 students. He also emphasised that the market size of career guidance, according to a recent study, has been estimated to be over 5,000 crores.

Key Factors Driving The Education Sector:

Education is the driving factor in today’s world. It is the basic requirement of every individual. And so the differentiation of institutions on the basis of their technology, experience, and ease of access makes the education industry grow along with a better future provision for students.

How My TAG App Is Solving Major Problems Faced By Students:

Education institutions, as well as students and their parents, face the same problem of admissions, and thus, My TAG App comes into play in resolving the issue between the accessibility of schools and colleges by school or college comparisons based on different criteria, rank prediction in exams to predict college based on ranks, an educational news portal, and a common application form for students provided directly to schools or colleges.

My TAG App also assists students in choosing their career options without regretting their decisions in the future. With more than 500+ features on the app along with one-to-one interaction with the counsellors, one can easily categorise and understand the pros and cons of the decisions they make.

Students can easily talk about any issue to the counsellors, like their academic performance, personal life problems, financial issues, or anything that is hindering their educational productivity.

Future Prospects Of The My TAG App:

The founder aims to make the company the world’s largest education system, comprised of solutions ranging from play schools to higher education. It also plans to fulfill the end-to-end requirements of educational institutions as well as students with the help of events, co-curricular activities, and competitions. It is also intended to provide loans and innovative solutions to students and educational institutions. Currently the startup is looking for investors. My TAG App will also work on its accessibility to not only Indian students but also foreign students. Therefore, in the next three years, the founder aims to get a bit closer to having a global presence for the company.
