India’s Top AI Job Locations For 2024

One of the most revolutionary and disruptive technologies of the twenty-first century, artificial intelligence (AI) is having a profound effect on a wide range of businesses and sectors, including manufacturing, healthcare, education, and finance. AI transforms the abilities and duties of current workers while also creating new, in-demand employment, which presents both opportunities and difficulties for the labor force.

But not every Indian city or area is as desirable or appropriate for AI work as another. In terms of infrastructure, education, research, and innovation, as well as the quantity and caliber of talent available, some towns and regions provide greater benefits and opportunities than others. Based on a number of variables and sources, these are a few of the top AI job locations in India for 2024:

Bengaluru: The nation’s center for AI employment, Bengaluru is also the country’s startup capital and IT hub. With over 150,000 AI professionals and a high concentration of AI education and research institutions like the Indian Institute of Science, Indian Institute of Management, and International Institute of Information Technology, Bengaluru, Bengaluru boasts a large and diverse pool of AI talent. With more than 500 AI firms and a significant concentration of both domestic and foreign AI companies, including IBM, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Flipkart, and Ola, Bengaluru has a thriving and dynamic ecosystem for AI startups.

Hyderabad: This city is growing as a hub for AI innovation and development, ranking second in India for AI jobs. With over 100,000 AI workers, Hyderabad boasts a sizable and highly competent pool of AI talent. It also contains excellent institutions for AI education and research, including the Indian Institute of Technology, the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, and the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology. Hyderabad is home to more than 300 AI startups and a large number of both local and international AI corporations, including Facebook, Apple, Uber, Salesforce, TCS, and Infosys. The city’s AI startup environment is rapidly expanding and diversified.

Delhi-NCR: It is the capital city for AI policy and regulation and the third-largest metropolis in India for AI jobs. With over 80,000 AI professionals and a high caliber of AI education and research institutions like the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi Technological University, and Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi-NCR boasts a huge and seasoned pool of AI expertise. With more than 400 AI startups and a significant number of both domestic and foreign AI organizations, including Accenture, Oracle, Adobe, HCL, and Wipro, Delhi-NCR boasts a sophisticated and varied AI startup ecosystem.

Mumbai: The financial and entertainment hub of India, Mumbai ranks as the fourth-largest city in the country for AI jobs. With over 60,000 AI workers, Mumbai boasts a sizable and diverse pool of AI expertise. It also boasts high-caliber AI research and education facilities, like the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, the Institute of Chemical Technology, and the Indian Institute of Technology. With more than 200 AI startups and a strong concentration of both domestic and international AI corporations, including Reliance, HDFC, ICICI, Zee, and Viacom, Mumbai also boasts a vibrant and diverse AI startup environment.

Chennai: Chennai is the industrial and automotive center of India and the fifth-largest city for AI jobs. With over 40,000 AI professionals and a big and competent pool of AI education and research institutions including the Indian Institute of Technology, Anna University, and Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai has a lot going for it in terms of AI talent. Together with over 100 AI startups, Chennai is home to a thriving and diverse ecosystem of national and international AI corporations, including Ford, Nissan, Cognizant, and L&T.
