The pandemic has made the need to adapt to changes rapidly, glaring obvious. Nowhere more so than the interconnected global supply chain. In fact with the right fleet-tech, customized care, service, and even insurance will enter the mainstream. Data generated from vehicle telematics systems will also assist in dynamic mapping of roadway conditions to help drivers understand high-risk routes and help optimize fleet operations further.
Platforms will be of central importance, by uniting systems silos, fleet-tech will provide businesses with visibility and actionable insights to more comprehensive areas of their operations in real-time. The platform ecosystem will also make shared mobility viable resulting in flexible goods movement, dynamic supply chain management, as well as more efficient allocation of shared resources, such as cargo capacity. As commercial vehicles run more efficiently, the role of fleet tech in reducing the carbon footprint of supply chains will become very prominent.
