Healing Notes – Virtual Conclave To Explore Connections Between Music And Mental Wellbeing

June 24, 2021

Hinduja Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Hinduja Group, which recently made a foray into mental health advocacy has joined hands with the National Brain Research Center to host a virtual conclave ‘Healing Notes’ to mark World Music Day.
Catch the conclave live on the Hinduja Group’s Youtube channel and the Hinduja Foundation’s Facebook page.
Curated and hosted by ace violinist Sunita Bhuyan on June 25th 2021, the virtual event will explore connections between music and mental wellbeing. ‘Healing Notes’ will cover four highly relevant contemporary themes on the importance of music and brain development, cancer recuperation, physical rehabilitation and early childhood education.
Slated for a run-time of 1 hour and 15 minutes, the event will host sessions that highlight the regenerative powers of music therapy to soothe the mind, body and soul. These sessions will be hosted by experts and provide participants with detailed insights into music therapy and how it can be used to benefit an individual’s overall wellbeing.
Paul Abraham, President, Hinduja Foundation said, “The Hinduja Foundation has recently taken up mental health and wellbeing as a space in which to contribute in a meaningful way. We are hoping, through an integrative process of collective dialogues, subject-focused presentations and events, to create greater awareness about this challenge. We recently organized the Never Alone Global Mental Health Summit: Spotlight India in collaboration with the Deepak Chopra Foundation, curated by Satya Hinduja’s Alchemic Sonic Environment that focused on energy, frequency and vibration as a way to heal and reveal systems and structures for mental wellbeing. Eminent speakers from all walks of life made a compelling case for mental wellbeing as an essential component to a happier and healthier life. Please join us for another experience, this time focusing purely on the role of music in mitigating mental dissonance and assisting people coping with myriad health conditions.”
Sunita Bhuyan said, “Music is one of those artistic forms that is easily accessible as one can benefit either by listening to it or by pursuing it. Apart from being the most popular medium of entertainment, it can have a strong impact on our mind and body by producing feel-good hormones. Engaging in a musical medium can facilitate positive human traits like sharing, caring, listening, inclusion and working together, which go a long way in the all-round development of children and adults.”
‘Healing Notes’ will be anchored by Sunita Bhuyan and begin with a short deep listening experience by sound artist and Founder Satya Hinduja revealing Alchemic Sonic Environment’s integrative vision – a multisensory deep listening experience designed to invoke states of reflection, receptivity and exchange. Other panelists at the event include luminaries like Dr. Pravat Mandal, Director NBRC and eminent brain scientist associated with John Hopkins University; Dr Kashyap Patel, oncologist from USA working in the area of music therapy for cancer patients and author of Between Life and Death; Ninian Perry, Director of the Paragon Ensemble, Glasgow; Dr. Anjlee Prakash, Founder/Chairperson of Learning Links Foundation and Paul Abraham, President of Hinduja Foundation.
In May 2021, Hinduja Foundation in collaboration with The Chopra Foundation and John W Brick Mental Health Foundation had co-sponsored a three-hour segment, Spotlight India, within the Never Alone Global Mental Health (Virtual) Summit to promote the importance of mental health during the Covid-19 pandemic.
