Experts Forecast Increased Employment Via Generative AI Investments, Incentives, And Open Source Content

January 23, 2024
Artificial-Intelligence

India’s employment creation and economic equality have been linked to generative AI, or artificial intelligence that uses cutting-edge technology to create new content including text, images, music, audio, and videos. Large investments in generative AI, according to industry experts, can help close the economic gap by creating new job opportunities and lowering social inequalities.

The director of IMT Ghaziabad, Vishal Talwar, highlighted how generative AI might open up new career opportunities and allow those with lower skill levels to work in higher-level positions. He said that this technology might be extremely important in closing the nation’s economic divide.

Earlier this month, IMT Ghaziabad conducted conversations on the role of generative AI in business education and employment generation, in keeping with this vision for the future of work and skill development. The institution emphasized that in order to foster generative AI innovation, the next budget must include specific funding as well as a strong infrastructure.

The discussion came to the conclusion that significant investments in generative AI might increase job possibilities and lessen social inequalities. Expert Mohanbir Sawhney of Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management expressed hope that Indian businesses will use generative AI tools and platforms to create products that are appropriate for the Indian market.

The CTO of ONDC (Open Network for Digital Commerce), Nitin Mishra, gave his thoughts on how generative AI may help those living at the bottom of the economic pyramid. He underlined how it may be used to address major issues in fields like agriculture, healthcare, and education.

Coursera’s Raghav Gupta spoke about the potential of generative AI to increase student engagement and provide access to top-notch education. He emphasized how it can change the educational experience for students from a variety of backgrounds.

India must make large investments in the development of artificial intelligence-related capabilities in order to support these ambitions. To develop the expertise required for upcoming breakthroughs in this subject, a national artificial intelligence training project has been established.

These talks highlighted India’s ambitious AI projects, like the Indian AI Mission, according to the Economic Times story “Investments & incentives: Open source content for Generative AI can boost job creations.” The essay also underlines that in order to address societal issues through creative applications of generative AI technology, cooperation between businesses, governments, and non-governmental groups will be crucial.

Significant investments in generative AI have the ability to significantly advance technology and provide people with the essential skills for changing work markets. Through the strategic use of this cutting-edge technology, government incentives, and open-source content resources, India can set the stage for equitable growth and economic empowerment.
