Excellent News For Aspiring Data Scientists! IITs Will Launch A BTech Programme In AI And Data Science

January 5, 2023
IIT Kharagpur

Data engineering, data science, and artificial intelligence are hot issues in the modern digital era. Their inventions have changed how people view a circumstance. Although they do it in various ways, these technologies all consume data. Data science and artificial intelligence are two technological areas that commonly collaborate. IITs are now introducing BTech in AI and Data Science as well as certification programmes in the new technology in light of the growing application of artificial intelligence (AI).

A full-time degree programme in AI and Data Science has just begun at the Indian Institute of Technology ((IT) Patna, preparing students to manage massive amounts of data and create AI-focused algorithms. In order to incorporate artificial intelligence into the educational process, IITs will create a BTech in AI. IIT Hyderabad and IIT Guwahati both offer a BTech in AI and Data Science curriculum. This course may be ideal for you if data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning intrigue you. Brief descriptions of the curriculum, eligibility requirements, and course format are provided below the article.

Seating and course organisation
A more complex version of BTech computer science, BTech in artificial intelligence and data science is designed for students who are interested in the dynamics of algorithms and data structures. There are 36 seats available for BTech AI & Data Science at IIT Patna. The four-year, full-time undergraduate curriculum is divided into eight semesters. In addition to their choice of electives, candidates must complete six to seven mandatory courses each semester. Candidates must also participate in any cultural activities, National Cadet Corps (NCC), National Social Service (NSS), or both, during the first semester. Throughout the first semester, candidates will be introduced to the core engineering branches. Some of the subjects covered in this course are electrical sciences, engineering mechanics, computer architecture, machine learning, data science, artificial intelligence, operating systems, computer networks, big data analytics, and big data security.

eligibility requirements
JEE Advanced score will be used to determine admission to BTech programmes in artificial intelligence and data science. Candidates must also have passed the class 12 (or equivalent) test from a state or central board that is recognised.

course costs
The cost of the BTech programme for applicants in the general and OBC categories is Rs 1 lakh each semester. Students who are classified as SC/ST are not required to pay. For the most economically challenged pupils, the entire tuition charge will be waived (those whose family income is below Rs 1 lakh annually). If the family income of the other economically disadvantaged children is between Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 5 lakh per year, they will be eligible for a 2/3 tuition fee refund.
