The EV craze in India is slowly picking up its pace, which is why we are seeing companies launching electric vehicles left, right and centre. Recently, another entrant of this EV race has launched its newest flagship electric scooter. EeVe India which is based out of Odisha and owned by Bharat Group has unveiled its high-speed e-scooter called EeVe Soul. This is new electric scooter has been priced at Rs 1.41 lakh and it comes loaded with a host of features.
Some of the features that the EeVe Soul has to offer are IOT functions, anti-theft lock system, GPS navigation, USB port, keyless experience, reverse mode, central braking system geo-tagging and geo-fencing. The overall design of the vehicle looks smart and modern with the inverted LED DRLs and headlamp along with some neat graphics on the body panels.
The EeVe e-scooter is also equipped with a keyless system and central braking. It is fitted with 90 section 12-inch tubeless tyres wrapped around alloy wheels. Additionally, the front gets a telescopic suspension while the rear gets a four-step adjustable suspension. The scooter also offers disc brakes as well as CBS (Combined Braking System).
The company has claimed that Soul will have a range of 120 km, Although this range will come only when the vehicle is used in the Eco Mode, and the top speed will be 40 kmph. There will be two additional modes that will give the scooter top speeds of 50 kmph and 60 kmph respectively, however, the range will take a hit in those two modes.
The EeVe Soul electric scooter will be powered by a 1200W Bosch motor with a lithium Ferrous Phosphate swappable and detachable battery. This battery pack instead of being on the floorboard is located under the seat, so it can be detached and charged at homes or offices. These batteries will take around 3-4 hours to fully charge up, said the company. The Soul will come with a standard 3-year warranty.
The company also has a few different models in its portfolio apart from the freshly launched Soul. EeVe India also offers 4U, Wind, Your and Ahava models in its lineup. And these are priced in the range of Rs 51,900 to Rs 70,900. EeVe India’s second most expensive model after Soul is the Xeniaa, which costs around Rs 81,900. All of these e-scooters are ineligible for the government’s FAME II subsidy as these all are slow-speed scooters with a top speed of 25 kmph.
Harsh Vardhan Didwania, Co-Founder & Director, EeVe India said, “We have a legacy of 80 years in the mobility industry with the largest state-of-the-art operational manufacturing plant in the country. Last fiscal, we sold 15, 000 units of our low-speed models and are confident of achieving the target of another 50,000 units in the next two years. For this, we are working on strengthening and expanding our network system from existing 150 dealers and sub-dealers to 300 and mark our pan-India presence,”
EeVe India has also revealed their extensive plan for their expansion, in which they have announced that they will be investing up to Rs 1,000 crore during the next two years towards R&D, developing new products in electric mobility solutions. They will also be improving the existing manufacturing facilities as well as setting up charging infrastructure. Additionally, the company will also start localising parts, expanding networks along with brand building.
In other news, Ola has also started the deliveries of its S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters after a long wait. The first 100 scooters were delivered to customers in Bengaluru and Chennai. However, some of the promised features like the mobile app, hill hold, cruise control, voice commands and Bluetooth were not enabled.
Additionally, Bounce Electric, another Bengaluru-based ride-sharing startup has launched its first-ever electric scooter Infinity E1. The scooter comes with alloy wheels, LED projector headlamp, LED tail lamps and turn indicators, a digital instrument console and a 12-litre under-seat storage compartment.
Powering the E1 will be a BLDC motor, producing 83 Nm of torque taking the scooter from 0-40 kmph in 8 seconds. The scooter comes with a 48V 39 Ah lithium-ion swappable battery, which takes four to five hours to get fully charged and offers a maximum riding range of 85 km. This battery comes in the higher-priced variant of the model, which costs around Rs Rs 68,999 and will be provided with a battery and charger as a part of the package. The other cheaper variant that comes with the unique ‘battery as a service’ subscription option, will cost Rs 45,099 (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
