Computer vision- adhering to the business needs!

The global business market has grown exponentially in recent years.  The market was  $10.9 billion in  2019 and expected to grow to $17.4 billion by 2024. This will result in an annual growth rate of the industry to be an impressive 7.8 %. With computer vision meeting the human mind, this itself is a revolutionary step for mankind.  However, it is essential to first understand what computer vision truly is. Is it artificial intelligence or something different ?  Well, computer vision is the subset of artificial intelligence which is programmed in a machine enabling it with the ability to identify , detect objects  and work identical to humans even more efficiently, accurately and pocket friendly. With computer vision, businesses have benefitted on a large extent.

Let us understand how;

The softwares developed with artificial intelligence, enables the businesses with a complete analytical report on their working, client traffic, customer response, financial strategies and real time security. Computer vision makes the businesses productivity more accurate and efficient. Another aspect of computer vision in businesses is in  maintenance of infrastructure.  For example, in extreme places like rooftops and chimneys, it is really difficult for labor workers to reach and assess the issue. All thanks to AI powered drones which ease out this work and give the workers a broader view of the place. The drones capture live pictures giving the true condition of the situation after which the company can take proper actions. After the pictures are taken , the companies are now using computer vision based softwares which assess the images and give solutions making the process more accurate and efficient for the businesses.

Now let us look at some of the key feature through which computer vision helps businesses:

  • Document scanning and classification: To make paper work automated and simpler, companies use computer vision solutions making the work easier and hassle-free. Software like Optical Character Recognition and Natural Language Processing processes information from physical documents and scans them at the same time makes a digital copy of them which makes it easy to comprehend. By using these softwares, the companies save a considerable amount of money and time.
  • Medical Diagnosis: Indeed technology has given a great upliftment to healthcare and diagnosis. With computer vision enabled softwares, it can understand X Ray images, CT scans and MRI reports and quickly detect tumors and diseases. It also can use its deep learning algorithms in order to find a patient’s illness patterns which will make the diagnosis process way faster and more accurate saving millions of patient’s precious lives.
  • Accidental Prevention: Worker’s safety is of utmost priority for an industry. Now, their safety is taken care of by computer vision. The companies can monitor their employees’ work environment and also be sure that the equipment is safely used. This will also help them understand whether the employee is abiding by the safety measures while using the equipment. This will automate the process of risk detection and will save employees from any danger in the workplace.
  • Smart Farming: Computer vision has benefitted the agriculture industry as well and has enabled the farmers to increase their productivity and take it to a new level. With automation onboard, farmers  will no longer spend hours on  inspection of their crops. Instead, they can use drones based on the algorithm of computer vision for an aerial shot in order to get a real time view. This will indeed save them a considerable amount of time and energy and will reduce expenses making their productivity high.

Computer vision has equipped the businesses with automated software and equipment which has made their work faster and at the same it has reduced expenses.. With AI and computer vision proving their accuracy and efficiency, businesses are now implementing more and more AI based applications in their work in order to get more productivity and cost reduction.
