Companies That Are Actively Hiring In The Midst Of Twitter, Meta, And Other Big Tech’s Layoffs

December 10, 2022
meta

Since the beginning of the year, there have been numerous staff reductions in the technology sector. The internet flew into a frenzy in November 2022 after Elon Musk fired the majority of Twitter’s staff. A few days later, Meta made its own wave of layoff announcements, laying off roughly 13% of its workers. Later, Salesforce acknowledged that company had let go of hundreds of employees in order to reduce costs.

Old economy heavyweights and tech startups are welcoming fresh talent as these new economic leaders begin an unprecedented round of firing. Continue reading to find out which businesses are accepting new hires despite the spate of layoffs in the tech industry.

Employers in the technology sector include Jaguar Land Rover
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), surprising many in the auto sector, has revealed its intentions to hire laid-off workers from cyber behemoths like Meta and Twitter in order to bring in digital talent and demonstrate JLR’s commitment to staying at the forefront of technology. JLR’s worldwide hiring drive will fill more than 800 new positions throughout the UK, Ireland, the U.S., India, China, and Hungary. JLR is looking for individuals with expertise in artificial intelligence (AI), autonomous driving, cloud computing, data science, electrification, and more.

“Our road toward digital transformation is well under way, but finding highly qualified personnel is a crucial next step” (for the Reimagine strategy). We are happy to be able to provide chances to talented people with digital skills, stated Anthony Battle, Chief Information Officer of JLR, in a news statement. A new job platform has been developed by Tata Motors-owned JRL to help employers find workers. It allows dispersed workers in the tech sector to look into career prospects, some of which will provide flexible working hours and a hybrid office.

The status quo in the automotive business is being upended by emerging technology and shifting consumer demands. The recent move by JLR to hire digital personnel that had been laid off will enable automakers to stay current with trends and create the next generation of electric vehicles in this scenario.

Samsung
In addition to JLR, Samsung has disclosed that it will be employing about 1,000 engineers to work at its research and development centres across India. Following graduation from prestigious engineering schools and Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), these engineers will begin their professional careers at Samsung R&D Institute-Bangalore, Noida, Delhi, and Samsung Semiconductor India Research the following year.

“Samsung’s R&D centres aim to hire new talent from India’s best engineering colleges who will work on ground-breaking ideas, technologies, products, and designs that improve people’s lives, including innovations focused on India. According to Sameer Wadhawan, the head of human resources at Samsung India, this will advance the company’s goal of “Powering Digital India.”

These new personnel will work on cutting-edge technological advancements such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, connectivity, cloud computing, big data, business intelligence, predictive analysis, system-on-a-chip (SoC), storage solutions, and more.

Startups
In addition to businesses, some startups are looking for IT experts due to the current recession. For instance, in this unexpectedly difficult job market, AI document engineering company Docugami is actively filling numerous engineering roles. 98point6, a text-based primary care business, is now seeking tech expertise as it develops its virtual healthcare technology after recently raising US$43 million. Similarly, online money transfer firm Remitly need IT specialists for their staff due to a 100% increase in customer base.

How to obtain employment in the current economy
The job market is in a confusing state right now. Despite significant cutbacks in the IT sector, many businesses are still hiring. Knowing where to look is essential.

Tech-related professions are the primary emphasis of many online job sites. Dice and Monster are excellent sources for seeking tech employment, it’s true. The fact that so many businesses use LinkedIn to advertise job openings and find candidates makes it another useful tool.

Attend industry events, seek out to your network in the business, and join pertinent online communities in addition to online job sites. Your chances of finding out about job openings at hiring companies increase the more people you know. The most effective way to locate a job is frequently through someone you know.

Finally, keep trying. In the current market, it could take longer than usual to locate a job, but if you persevere, you’ll eventually find something.
