VARANASI: Banaras Hindu University’s Department of Computer Science will launch a specialised training and certification programme on artificial intelligence (AI), which will prepare graduates for positions as data scientists and applied scientists in the field. This curriculum is specifically created with the goal of retraining both working professionals and university students. The NASSCOM framework serves as the foundation for the training programme. Introduction to AI and Big Data, Statistical Concepts & Applications, Statistical Tools, Importing & Preprocessing Data, Exploring & Manipulating Data, Data Structures & Algorithms, Graph & String Algorithms, Artificial Neural Networks, Programming for Data Science, Programming in Python, Creating Visualizations, Managerial Skills, Organizational Behavior, Persuasive Communication, etc. are some of the basic and advanced topics in AI
Artificial intelligence (AI) is currently a technology with broad applications and national significance. The National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence (NSAI) of India was released by NITI Aayog in 2018, and it emphasised the economic potential of AI. A recent report from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) claims that data and artificial intelligence (AI) have the potential to generate over 20 million new technical employment alone, in addition to additional occupations in ancillary positions. To establish India as the world’s data and AI hub, there is a need for qualified experts in these fields. Thus, the Indian government has concentrated on encouraging initiatives that will help Indian youngsters develop these skills.
In this regard, the Department of Computer Science at BHU has received funding support for the training programme from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. Students and individuals working in or desiring to work in the specified fields will receive this training. In 2023, the programme will run from February through July. The registration period will start on January 12th, 2023. The deadline for registration is January 25. Entrance exams will be used to determine admission for a total of 100 seats. The training is provided without charge to the participants, and those who successfully complete the course will each receive a certificate. The BHU Department of Computer Science will deliver the programme.
