AWS Introduces India’s First Space Tech Accelerator Program

February 16, 2024
AWS

With cooperation from T-Hub and Minfy, Amazon Web Services (AWS) India Private Limited launched the AWS Space Accelerator: India, a technical, commercial, and mentorship program aimed at fostering and accelerating the growth of businesses focused on space technologies.

The 14-week accelerator program will help entrepreneurs in India develop, expand, and scale their missions by giving them access to specialized business resources, knowledge, and direction on technology and commercial capabilities.

Both early-stage and established Indian entrepreneurs that assist the space industry and are seeking to boost their growth and investment prospects are welcome to apply for the program. These startups must have a technology platform to back their ideas.

Space tech companies work in a high-risk environment where they must invest a large amount of capital, have access to a competent personnel, and conduct extensive testing and development of new technologies.

By giving space tech startups the chance to develop and test their solutions using simulation technologies on AWS before making capital investments, the accelerator program aims to address these issues by enabling them to quickly experiment at a low cost, improve their solutions, and launch and scale them.

AWS Premier Partners T-Hub and Minfy, together with up to $100,000 in AWS credits, are just a few of the advantages available to startups that meet program requirements. Expert advice from ISRO, IN-SPACe, and AWS is also available. Startups will gain knowledge of space domain technology and applications, as well as how to use cloud computing, data analytics, and machine learning to construct scalable solutions that may even use generative artificial intelligence (AI).

“Cloud computing is essential to the space industry’s future growth. Clint Crosier, Director, Aerospace and Satellite, AWS Inc., stated, “It helps space-tech startups to use high-performance computing resources to carry out intensive data analysis, apply machine learning models, and innovate in their missions while achieving lower cost of operations, faster time-to-market, and deployment at scale.” “Space-tech is facing transformative opportunities thanks to technologies like generative AI, and we’re committed to supporting startups in their innovative and sustainable space sector solutions development.”

Shalini Kapoor, Director and Chief Technologist, Public Sector, AWS India Private Limited, stated, “The launch of AWS’s first space accelerator for India-based startups directly supports our commitment to the Indian space industry through our MoU with ISRO and IN-SPACe, announced last year.” “We look forward to working with ISRO, IN-SPACe, T-Hub, and Minfy through this initiative to nurture space-tech innovation in the country. India has world-class talent in the space sector.”

T-Hub will give entrepreneurs knowledge on crucial topics including starting a business, obtaining capital, and perfecting pitch decks. “We are thrilled to provide support for the AWS Space Accelerator initiative in India,” stated T-Hub CEO Mahankali Srinivas Rao. The objective of this initiative is to enhance innovation, promote teamwork, and fortify India’s startup community. We are devoted to assisting companies in scaling the space industry with the help of T-Hub’s committed mentorship, practical technical support, and active alumni network.”

In order to help startups accelerate their development, Minfy’s technical specialists will provide a series of seminars covering a range of topics, such as advanced cloud design, workload security, aligning with the AWS Well-Architected Framework, and core AWS expertise. Raj Chilakapati, global pre-sales leader at Minfy, stated, “With the AWS India Space Accelerator program, we aim to empower startups to build secure and scalable solutions by leveraging cloud and AI.” “With our years of expertise and experience, we have built hundreds of successful AWS projects. We are dedicated to assisting startups in becoming well-positioned for innovation and expansion.”
