AI And Leadership: Why New Intelligence Will Need New Leadership?

June 27, 2022
AI-and-Leadership-Why-New-Intelligence-Will-Need-New-Leadership

Wise Leadership must be the guiding platform for Artificial intelligence

Intelligent behavior has long been considered a uniquely human attribute. But as computer science and IT networks progress exponentially, AI is increasingly standing out as the transformational technology of our age. According to a Technologies survey, 82% of leaders expect their employees and machines to work as integrated teams. And many employees look forward to AI that can help them do their job better. Through such collaborative intelligence, humans and AI actively enhance each other’s complementary strengths: the leadership, teamwork, creativity, and social skills of the former, and the speed, scalability, and quantitative capabilities of the latter.

Wise Leadership must be the guiding platform for AI. From industry 4.0 outwards, human and artificial intelligence may compete for jobs. Industry 4.0 is the current trend of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies. It includes cyber-physical systems, the Internet of things, and cloud computing. Industry 4.0 creates what has been called a smart factory. But it will increasingly collaborate and complement AI and humans. So AI-wise leaders should facilitate innovation, embrace collaboration between humans and AI, and transform operations, markets, industries – and the workforce with new skills. Here are some important things to make this happen.

AI is creating wins across the board:

AI, deep learning, and machine learning involve computers crunching vast quantities of data to find patterns and make predictions. DL allows predictive modeling via an artificial neural network loosely modeling the way neurons connect in the brain. And it can Engage customers and employees with NLP chatbots, intelligent agents, and ML. Robotic technologies help in automating business processes. The object is to generate solutions by using computers to mimic the cognitive functions associated with deliberative thought, including perception, reasoning, and learning.

AI’s predictive power will take wise judgment:

All human prediction is susceptible to being replaced by machines. But, there are many other valuable things that humans do that are complements, not substitutes, to prediction. AI precise predictive power is working with, and enhancing human judgment. People can leverage AI by converting HR functions, such as certain aspects of recruitment and skills development, into a series of predictions, where humans can then apply their judgment.

Machines can replace humans any time soon:

Robots will replace humans for many jobs, just as innovative farming equipment replaced humans and horses during the industrial revolution. As per some reports, 40% of jobs could be lost to robotics, automation, and AI in the next 10-15 years. And many employees are stressed about Robophobia: the fear of losing their job due to these forces. Wise leadership will acknowledge the opportunities of computer learning, enlightened by insights from neuroscience. Not attempting to compete with computers, but developing our human qualities like creativity, discernment, fairness of judgment, social collaboration, and a holistic vision of the future.

AI is a black box; trust must be built:

Mechanical systems learn from processing data. Each deep neural network layer progressively recognizes more complex features, which are captured in algorithms. AI or ML system remains the human mind that designed or manages it. AI may be smart, but still, need humans to set the right goals and engage in creative interpretation. Human intelligence alone, and by association, artificial intelligence, does not equal wisdom.

Human weakness is the ultimate strength:

The biased, emotional decision-making of the human brain has led to an upside. The installation of moral and ethical principles that transcend calculating, utilitarian thinking. The managerial wisdom will be able to address current challenges and create a more conscious. A meaningful future requires that corporate leadership takes responsibility – a socio-economic phenomenon that only a conscious mind can perform. Humans aim to progress in a commercially effective manner whilst holding a clear, broader, inspiring purpose in mind.
