A New Generation Of Digitally Native Elevators Is Introduced By Otis In India With The Gen3 Elevator

December 6, 2022

At the International Sourcing Exposition for Elevators & Escalators in India, Otis (NYSE: OTIS), the world’s top provider of elevator manufacture, installation, and service, unveiled its next generation of Gen3TM digitally native elevators (ISEE). The Gen3 platform was developed to allow individuals the freedom to connect and prosper in a taller, quicker, and more intelligent environment.

“The new, digitally native Gen3 elevator platform is designed to satisfy the requirements and expectations of a world that is becoming more connected in the present and the future. Sebi Joseph, president of Otis India, claimed that it “reimagines what elevators might be for passengers and for clients, from architects and developers to building owners and facilities managers.

The Otis ONE IoT digital platform, which offers the linked intelligence that characterises modern elevators, powers the Gen3 elevator. The Otis ONE platform continuously and in real-time monitors the health and operation of elevators. Customers of Otis and the field technicians who maintain their units have access to information on the performance of their whole portfolio. The Otis ONE platform empowers service workers to be proactive, anticipating possible issues and addressing them, frequently remotely, before they result in a service outage, thanks to the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence. A lot of problems may now be resolved securely and remotely thanks to technology.

The platform also makes it possible for the elevator and Otis command centre to communicate in two directions using data, speech, and video.

Through a customer portal, customers have open access to their data, and Otis can provide sustained elevator performance improvement based on data analytics performed by Otis maintenance professionals.

The Gen3 elevator platform can interact with building management software, tenant apps, and even autonomous robots to increase building efficiency via cloud-based API technologies. Additionally, the networked platform enables the smooth integration of future technologies and capabilities as demands change and new features appear.

Otis ReGenTM drive, LED lighting, and sleep mode are all features of the Gen3 elevator that contribute to lowering energy consumption and the elevator’s carbon footprint in line with Otis’ commitment to sustainability. Modern, cosy environments for passengers can be customised with the help of sophisticated aesthetics and a variety of possibilities.
