A Look Into 2024: Developments Transforming India’s AI and Automation Strategy

December 22, 2023
Artificial-Intelligence

Leading enterprise automation software provider UiPath revealed today the top five automation and artificial intelligence (AI) developments that would drastically alter the Indian labor market by 2024. The enthusiasm over AI peaked in 2023, and its full potential won’t be realized until 2024.

“The synergy between automation and AI is unlocking unprecedented value for enterprises worldwide in the realm of digital transformation,” stated Arun Balasubramanian, Vice President and Managing Director, UiPath, India and South Asia. The goal here is to fully utilize these technologies to transform the way we work, not only to increase automation. It’s evident as we navigate this changing environment that the future is in the smooth integration of automation and artificial intelligence.

“Those who use automation and artificial intelligence (AI) to navigate complexity and enable a dynamic partnership between human creativity and robotic efficiency will be the ones leading the way in the future.” The use of co-pilots, task mining, process mining, and other emerging technologies has made navigating the AI field more effective. Balasubramanian continued, “We’re creating a future where businesses flourish through creativity, efficiency, and the peaceful coexistence of people and machines as we pioneer safe AI.

Firstly, LLMs make virtual BFFs stronger
Older Indian workers are more open to the idea of AI-powered automation assisting them at work, according to the UiPath Automation Generation Survey 2023: Automation would enable workers to perform their tasks more effectively, according to 91% of Baby Boomer respondents; 87% of Generation Z, 86% of Millennials, and 84% of Generation X respondents (84%) share this opinion.

Given that enterprise software suppliers are already adopting Large Language Models (LLMs), these attitudes would continue till 2024. Copilots, virtual desktop assistants who understand people’s work environments and tasks and communicate in plain English, are one noteworthy application. These copilots can quickly pick up the ability to auto-complete a variety of tasks and proactively improve workflow efficiency, just like the greatest human assistants. UiPath, for instance, streamlines processes like data entry and email management by integrating AutopilotTM into solutions for a variety of users. With these kinds of breakthroughs, LLMs and Gen AI solutions are poised to completely change the way we interact with machines and trigger a new wave of productivity growth on a worldwide scale.

Trend 2: Innovation and action center on safe AI
The C-suite will place a higher priority on mitigating AI risks and highlighting safe AI to enhance the risk/benefit ratio. Anticipate a notable surge in the usage of AI governance, as enterprise software vendors integrate strong AI controls. In order to improve human review, technology vendors will develop person-in-the-loop capabilities. Organizations are moving from aspirational to operational phases in 2024 as a result of creative solutions. The Indian government has demonstrated its commitment to openness and accountability by prioritising innovation and developing policy frameworks such as the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy for responsible AI deployment.

Trend 3: The C-suite uses automation to capitalize on the potential of AI
Executives nowadays are ecstatic about artificial intelligence’s ability to spur innovation and growth, transform a number of facets of the workplace, and boost output in previously unheard-of ways. By 2024, they will be more concerned with converting AI’s potential into real benefits. Adoption of AI is expected to boost India’s GDP by $500 billion by 2025, according to a Nasscom analysis. Automation is quickly enabling a number of advantages of AI. Businesses in 2024 will depend more and more on corporate automation to help them accomplish their goals as they focus on achieving their AI aspirations.

Trend Four: An end-to-end transparent organization becomes apparent. Digital twinning is winning; process and task mining are shining
Enterprise managers struggled until recently with little insight into end-to-end work processes, which made it difficult to diagnose and resolve issues. This environment has changed due to process intelligence, which is driven by AI in sophisticated task, process, and communications mining. With the ability to continuously monitor and thoroughly assess processes, organizations may now obtain insights and find the best solutions for productive workflows. Prominent innovators are even modeling possible workflow changes before they are implemented, supplying dynamic real-time visibility, and building “digital twins” of their operations. It is projected that in 2024 and beyond, this breakthrough will lead to greater acceptance.

Trend 5: Creating new connections with machines to redefine work
Large language models (LLMs), which have the ability to automate up to 30% of existing tasks by 2030, are predicted to have a substantial impact on the nature of employment in the future. As LLMs develop further, they will probably be used in a variety of fields, requiring the workforce to adjust to new duties. The labor implications of a virtual workforce, redefining the best skill sets for the future, and learning from professions further along the adoption path are important areas of concern for thought leaders, legislators, and education professionals. By 2024, these initiatives will start to transform the workforce, necessitating that individuals learn new skills and adjust to new responsibilities in addition to taking into account the demands and opinions of governments, unions, businesses, employees, and the general public.
