5 Ways Artificial Intelligence Can Improve Your Workplace

June 12, 2023
artificial-intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming a reality in our daily lives. More than we may realise at times, AI technologies are affecting practically every part of our lives, including our jobs.

The impact of AI on the future of employment is a significant question that arises as computers and technology evolve. The advent of artificial intelligence, like other scientific advancements in history, has sparked concerns about the potential obsolescence of human employment. The actual scenario, on the other hand, is likely to be less dismal and more intimately entangled with many complexities. Let’s take a look at five ways AI in the workplace might assist businesses.

Simplifying the hiring procedure

Hiring talented labour may be difficult, expensive, and even irritating at times. HR departments across industries are responsible for sorting through stacks of employment applications for open positions around the organisation. However, because 100% of candidate sourcing and matching can now be automated, the applicant scanning process has become faster and easier. The bottom line is that AI accelerates the entire recruitment process by reducing the need for manual chores, allowing recruiters to be more productive.

Boosting Productivity
One of the most significant advantages of AI technology in the workplace is the offloading of monotonous activities to AI, which allows employees to focus on more important elements of their jobs. Chatbots, for example, are becoming increasingly popular for providing 24/7 customer service. There are often inquiries about the company’s services and/or products, and AI is extremely well-equipped to handle such repetitive duties, allowing people to be more productive in areas where they are needed.

Providing employees with opportunities to learn and grow
The most significant way that AI will impact the learning and development sector is through the development of more optimised and effective training methods that can be implemented across the organisation. Today, 93% of organisations want to incorporate learning into their daily operations. This appears to be the most efficient and seamless method of learning. The wonderful thing about AI technology for learning and upskilling is that it allows training programmes to be tailored to the specific needs of each employee.

Increasing the security of data and information

Across the board, organisations are increasingly investing in AI-based technologies to identify security issues and apply data protection procedures to protect their assets. Because AI technology allows them to learn about and analyse potential cyber threats in real time, AI and machine learning are primed to help them improve their security posture. Based on this, they use algorithms to create behavioural models, which they then use to predict possible cyberattacks when fresh data becomes available.

Increasing the workforce
An augmented workforce, an often misunderstood idea, is a working environment in which human employees and computers or intelligent virtual assistants collaborate to boost efficiency. Chatbots, messaging apps, and project management systems employ AI to make recommendations on how to improve workflow efficiency or effectiveness. Such technologies are required in a digital workplace to let employees focus more on human-to-human interactions and invest their time in creative ideas.

Final thoughts
Regardless of our personal preferences, AI has firmly entrenched itself and will continue to affect our future. Personally, I don’t see any need to be concerned. The most effective strategy is to embrace awareness and adaptability in the face of an ever-changing technology landscape, including AI.
