5 Things India Should Learn From The US’s AI And ML Policy?

The United States government has set up a National Artificial Intelligence Initiative Office. Under the aegis of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), the recently settled office will enhances the ‘endeavors to guarantee America’s administration’ in new-age innovations like AI and machine learning, data analytics, and so on. This office will help the US government to increase AI research investment, use AI computing and data resources from the federal government, set technical standards in AI and machine learning, building a workforce, and effectively engage with international partners.

In the government AI readiness index 2020, India ranks 40th where the United States was on top, a direct result of a dedicated national AI strategy. This further repeats how having a cross-country structure for AI technique and execution is the need of the hour. Being one of the fastest-growing countries, India could benefit significantly from an AI revolution. So what are the things India should learn from the US’s AI and machine learning policy?

Increase investment in AI-related R&D

India has the absolute most interesting research landscape for arising innovations like AI and machine learning. Truth be told, India was set third in AI research by the Nature Index 2020 artificial intelligence report. If appropriately upheld by the public authority in terms of assets, framework, and resources, AI and machine learning research will become greater and better. The public authority should likewise take a gander at boosting exploration to draw in the best minds as the US did.

Preparing the workforce for future

A joint report by EY and NASSCOM has tracked down that up to 46% of the labor force will be engaged with new positions that don’t exist today. The vast majority of these positions would require ranges of abilities dependent on advances like AI and machine learning. Subsequently, the requirement for preparing and upskilling the future workforce in modern tech becomes fundamental.
