June 12, 2021

As the 21st century is a technology-driven society, where we are surrounded by a plethora of web applications, the rise of pandemic saw a gradual shift of businesses online, ranging from applications like Microsoft Teams for imparting knowledge in schools/colleges to doctors providing online consultation on platforms like Practo, etc.

Ever wondered how these apps are brought to life? These are brought to life with the help of coding. Today machine learning, AI, app development and automation are becoming an important part of society.

According to the national science foundation, it is predicted that in a decade there will be a rise of almost about 80% in jobs that would require some form of maths and science skills, another study quoted, the jobs related to AI and automation may grow to 20 to 50 million and more than 375 million workers globally.

As new jobs will be invented requiring a new set of skills, our country’s students must learn to write and build apps/programs from a very early age itself.

The Ministry of Education announced the new National Education Policy in 2020, with some changes in the bookish education system of India for today’s tech-driven society, “mandating the teaching of coding techniques from class 6 onwards”.
Coding is a language that not only teaches children, how a range of apps and automation devices are built but also helps to sharpen their minds by inculcating problem-solving and analytical skills in them. Being one of the most populous countries in the world, with unmatched talent and more than 50% of the population below the age of 25 years, there is a lot of potential that coding can bring in the country and help the government achieve its objectives of Digital India and Make in India.

The company offers live online coding courses for grade 4-9 kids and help them to garner knowledge about STEM foundation and coding fundamentals.

In addition, the courses assist children to learn how to think and solve problems creatively. Also inculcate team leadership and good communication skills amongst young minds.

The company is looking forward to create a generation of kids who’d have built expert level coding fluency by applying it to other subjects and an unbeatable STEM foundation with all this even before they’ve entered high school.

  1. Code Young
Code Young, formerly known as SmaOwl was founded in 2009 by Shailendra Dhakad and Rupika Taneja is a platform where children are free to let their imaginations run wild. It’s a forum where students are taught to be inventive, imaginative, and to use coding in unconventional ways.

Their classes are designed for children aged 5 to 17. The company prefers a more hands-on organic approach to coding than other coding courses. Their courses are for children in grades 1-10, and the sessions are interactive, binge-worthy, bite-sized, and geared toward students.
