TIW Capital Group Invests In Scient Capital To Expand AI/ML Investment

December 1, 2022
Artificial-Intelligence

From its Global International Fund, TIW Capital Group (TCG) has made an investment of an amount that has not been made public in the alternative asset manager Scient Capital Pvt. Ltd.

TCG plans to broaden its portfolio of artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI & ML) driven investment technologies as a result of the investment.

Scient Capital Pvt. Ltd. is a multi-asset management company that was established in 2016 by Swapnil Pawar. The company offers a suite of portfolio management services (PMS) and alternative investment products (AIF).

Credence Family Office served as the transaction’s one and only advisor.

By making an investment in Scient, TCG plans to grow its portfolio by expanding its operations in India and other countries outside of the country. According to a statement released by the company, the purpose of this transaction is to create a synergy between TCG’s expertise in quantitative investment strategy and the market and Scient’s technological expertise, portfolio management skills, and network. This synergy is anticipated to result in an increase in AUM achieved through more effective distribution channels.

Swapnil Pawar, the founder and chairman of Scient, issued the following statement in response to questions regarding the transaction: “The investment will be used to build up the team on the business and research side as well as towards new product development and marketing initiatives.” The firm will also benefit from TCG’s ability to build business alliances in a variety of locations around the world.

TIW Capital Group (TCG) is a global asset management company that has offices in Singapore, Dubai, Bahrain, and India amongst other locations. Buyout and private equity, fixed return income funds, new technology and quantitative investments, consulting, single family office management, family governance, and intergenerational wealth transfer are the areas in which this company operates. It has investors from 28 countries and 225 million Singapore dollars’ worth of assets under management.

The TIW India Buyout Fund of TIW Capital Group had been involved in multiple investments over the course of the previous year. It made an investment of approximately Rs 30 crore (approximately $4 million) in Huechem Textiles Pvt. Ltd. (HTPL), the proprietor of the “Chromozome” brand, and as a result of the investment, it acquired a “significant stake” in the company. Additionally, it made an investment of approximately Rs 43 crore (approximately $6 million) in Scentials Beauty Care and Wellness Pvt. Ltd. in February of 2021.
