The Majority Of Weapons Are Controlled By AI, Negating The Need For Any Physical Human Presence: Rajnath Singh, Minister Of Defense

January 17, 2023
Artificial-Intelligence

Bengaluru: According to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who was in Bangalore on Sunday, most weapons are handled by artificial intelligence, negating the necessity for any physical human presence in a world where technology has taken centre stage.
On the occasion of the 75th Army Day, he was speaking to members of the Indian Army and other people. The event was held outside of Delhi for the first time this time. Drones and underwater drones, he claimed, have become necessities since technology has taken centre stage in today’s society. The bulk of weapons in use today are controlled by artificial intelligence, negating the necessity for any physical human presence. In these highly technological times, troops have evolved into hybrids of humans and machines.

“I kindly ask that our armed forces enhance temporal adaptation skills. We should put what we’ve learnt from crises like the Ukraine into practise and be informed “added he.
Large armies around the world are modernising and developing new concepts, theories, technologies, and organisational structures, he continued. They are investigating brand-new tools and platforms. We should also concentrate on plans, methods, and policies while keeping in mind future requirements.
“Security used to be divided into internal and external security. While external security refers to the protection of borders against any outside elements, internal security deals with maintaining law and order. The divide between internal and exterior, however, has closed recently. It has become challenging to categorise security threats due to their additional dimensions, “Rajnath tacked on.
In his address, he admired Indian Army for their service and for keeping the nation safe.

Similar to this, the courage of our soldiers throughout the 1965, 1971, and Kargil wars, as well as the more recent engagements in Galwan and Tawang, has not only improved India’s reputation in the eyes of the world but also increased the army’s faith in the hearts of all of the nation’s residents.
“In addition to the Army, our airmen and sailors have always carried out their “military dharma” by occasionally showcasing their prowess and effectiveness. Similar to this, the armed forces are a trustworthy partner in disaster relief and humanitarian help for both the nation and friendly nations, “Said Singh.
He said that it’s crucial to focus on tomorrow and the day after tomorrow rather than today.
“Every today turns into yesterday tomorrow. Because of this, an army or organisation that solely trains in accordance with current technology quickly ages and loses its ability to function effectively over time. We must therefore focus on the future rather than the present by planning for tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, and the 25–30 years after that. Future wealth and security will be made possible by this. Come, let’s move India forward together and create a secure and developed India from all angles “added he.
