JioMart’s Indian Grocery Chain’s Repeat Purchase Rate Increases As A Result Of The WhatsApp Chatbot For Groceries

December 31, 2022
Whatsapp

Since its debut a few months ago by conversational AI firm Haptik, JioMart’s WhatsApp chatbot has been a resounding success. JioMart’s monthly orders have increased dramatically to over 200,000 per month, and 68% of consumers return to use the conversational commerce feature offered by the Meta subsidiary to make additional purchases.

COMMUNICATION GROCERY
Customers may explore and search for products using the JioMart WhatsApp chatbot, then finish the purchase and track the order via text messaging. As a result, JioMart may interact with an unlimited number of consumers at once and even send promotional messages to new subscribers, potentially reaching millions of people all at once. JioMart’s issue with the overabundance of incoming orders, which tripled during the pandemic despite the fact that it processes more than 250,000 a day, was resolved by the chatbot. JioMart was able to expand its service without adding extra staff members to the order fulfilment process by automating through the chatbot. The fact that more than two-thirds of WhatsApp chatbot users return to make more purchases demonstrates that AI has also been successful in satiating customers.

When the chatbot first launched, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, said, “This is our first-ever end-to-end purchasing experience on WhatsApp — customers can now buy groceries from JioMart right in a chat.” “Business messaging is gaining significant traction, and chat-based interactions like this will become the standard for how consumers and businesses communicate in the coming years.”

CHAT HAPTIK
With the JioMart chatbot, Haptik has continued to successfully integrate with WhatsApp. The Indian government’s MyGov Corona Helpdesk WhatsApp chatbot, developed by Haptik, was used by more than 30 million people in a year, making it the most popular WhatsApp chatbot ever. Additionally, it expands Haptik’s speech and text-based conversational commerce efforts. The business last year developed Buzzo, a voice assistant for internet shopping. Buzzo was first trialled as a beta with JioMart and functions as a voice-enabled virtual assistant for choosing products utilising Haptik’s natural language understanding technology.
